Governance

BBFAW is governed by an independent secretariat, which is responsible for providing a programme executive director and other resources necessary to coordinate the development of the Benchmark, to conduct the annual company research and evaluations, and to manage the accompanying dialogue with companies and other stakeholders.

The programme is supported by the BBFAW’s founding partner, Compassion in World Farming, who provide technical expertise, guidance, funding and practical resources. 

BBFAW is governed by an independent secretariat provided by Chronos Sustainability, which is responsible for providing a programme executive director and other resources necessary to coordinate the development of the Benchmark, to conduct the annual company research and evaluations, and to manage the accompanying dialogue with companies and other stakeholders.

The development of the Benchmark is overseen by a Technical Working Group (TWG) comprising technical experts, researchers and food business managers, and expert advisors on investor engagement and corporate responsibility.

The members of the TWG are currently:

  • Dr Tracey Jones, Director of Food Business, Compassion in World Farming;
  • Amélie Legrand, Global Head of Research (Food Business), Compassion in World Farming;
  • Dr Nathan Rhys Williams MRCVS, Head of Food and Health, Chronos Sustainability;
  • Katherine Button, Programme Manager, Chronos Sustainability;
  • Dr Rory Sullivan, Expert Advisor, BBFAW and Co-Founder and Director, Chronos Sustainability;
  • Louise Valducci Head of Food Business (EU programme), Compassion in World Farming.
